Biometric Data Policy
Effective August 28, 2026
HumanLore records skilled people demonstrating their work. Some of what we record may qualify as biometric information under state law. This policy explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and how we destroy it.
We publish this because Illinois law requires a written, publicly available retention schedule — and because anyone considering being recorded by us deserves to see it before they decide.
HumanLore is a trade name of Lemedo IT, Inc., a Texas corporation.
What may qualify as biometric information
Video and audio of a person can contain facial geometry and voice characteristics. We treat all of our recordings as biometric information and handle them under this policy, whether or not a particular jurisdiction would classify them that way.
What we do not do
- We do not use facial recognition, voice recognition, gait recognition, or any identification technology on our recordings
- We do not create or store biometric templates, embeddings, or identification signatures of any kind
- We do not sell, lease, trade, or otherwise profit from biometric information
- We do not disclose biometric information to third parties, including our licensees
Two kinds of data, kept apart
Raw Capture is the original video and audio of a creator. It may contain biometric information. It is stored internally, encrypted, with access limited to staff who need it to do their work. It is never licensed, sold, or disclosed outside HumanLore.
Skill Asset is what we license. It contains motion and technique parameters, decision logic, task structure, and success and failure criteria. It contains no biometric information — no face, no voice, no identifying characteristics.
Our licensees receive Skill Assets only. They never receive Raw Capture.
Why we collect it
We collect biometric information for one purpose: to create, structure, and validate a Skill Asset from a creator's demonstration.
We do not use it for identification, verification, security, authentication, access control, or any other purpose.
Consent
We obtain written consent before any recording begins, in a document separate from the Creator Agreement, which states what we collect, why, and for how long.
Consent may be withdrawn. Every person who signs receives a copy with a withdrawal link. Within 48 hours of signing, withdrawal is immediate and automatic. After that, email [email protected] and we will act within 30 days.

We may extend the three-year period for accepted creators only in 2-year increments, and only with fresh written consent from that creator. We do not extend by default, and silence is never treated as consent.
In every case, we destroy biometric information at the earliest of: the date in this schedule, the date our stated purpose is satisfied, or three years after that person's last interaction with HumanLore.
How we destroy it
Permanent deletion from primary storage, from backups, and from any derived working files, on an automated schedule. Deletion is logged and verified quarterly. It is not reversible, and we do not keep archival copies.
Other people in recordings
If anyone other than the creator appears or is audible in a recording, we require their signed release before we process that footage. Footage containing someone who has not signed is held unprocessed until we obtain a release, remove them, or delete it.
We do not record anyone under 18 under any circumstances. If a person under 18 appears in a recording, that recording is deleted.
Security
Encryption in transit and at rest. Role-based access limited to named staff. Multi-factor authentication on every account that can reach recordings. Access logging reviewed quarterly. Recordings are never stored on personal devices, personal cloud accounts, or consumer file-sharing services.
We store biometric information using at least the same standard of care we apply to our other confidential information.
Service providers
Some service providers process recordings on our behalf — hosting, storage, and transcription. Each is bound by contract to our purposes only, prohibited from using the data for their own purposes or model training, and prohibited from performing any biometric identification on it.
Changes
We will post updates here with a new effective date. If we materially change what we collect, why, or how long we keep it, we will notify affected creators directly and, where required, ask for renewed consent.
